A short walk down Sukhumvit Road from the main business district of Asoke; or one stop further on the BTS Sky Train you will find the area of Nana.

What you can expect if living in Nana
The name Nana originates form the Nana family and who own and control a lot of property in the area and there is no getting away from the racy and naughty nightlife scene Bangkok has become famous for when living in this district. Nana is synonymous with “Nana Plaza” – along with Soi Cowboy and Patpong, one of the most infamous red-light district areas of Bangkok.
Located on Sukhumvit Soi 4 it consists of a large square-shaped, 3-storey complex of go-go bars. With neon lights, pumping music and teams of scantily clad girls and kathhoeys (lady-boys) all enticing passer-by’s in; you will not be able to walk past this place without noticing it!
Still, it all adds to the colorful and lively feel of this district and Nana definitely also has a lot more to offer. It is popular with a lot of people due to its conveniently close location and easy access to one on Thailand’s top and most recognized international hospitals – Bumrungrad Hospital. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 3, it was established in the 80’s. The name Bumrungrad means ‘care for the people’ and it is Southeast Asia’s largest private hospital with many accreditations, recognitions and awards.
Nana also houses many 4 and 5 star hotels including the likes of The Landmark Hotel Bangkok, JW Marriott and Amari Boulevard; as well as many more surprisingly comfy and quality lower-cost options. It is also home to a vast array of culinary delights of all origins, tastes and budgets from street-vendors to 5-star dining. One thing for sure is that there is never a dull or quiet moment living in this area but if this is not your thing then maybe it would be better considering another location.
